Swayam-1





Pune Students Made Their Own Satellite and ISRO Will Be Launching It in Space Soon on-board PSLV-C34. Named Swayam-1, which will orbit the Earth at a height of 500-800 km. Satellite life 6 months. Weight 1 kg.
- The Swayam project was initiated by a group of 40 students in late 2008, and it was officially approved by the institute in 2009. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between College of Engineering and ISRO on May 23, 2013. This satellite will be useful in improving communication in rural areas.
The Satellite will be launched by ISRO in the 4th week of April along with Cartosat - 2C by Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle C-34.[2] The satellite is to be placed in low earth orbit (LEO) around the Earth at a height of 500–800 km.[3]
